After some technical delays and a busy summer we’re back, and by the grace of God ready and willing to move forward in prayer for our county. Will you join us in what is developing into an exciting and challenging season in the movement for prayer across our family of nations? The key points we are seeing are:
- It’s a new season in the purposes of God. Really! Let’s drive away the cynicism that says we’ve heard it all before, and look forward with anticipation
- Prayer and Mission are beginning to move together. As we write this, leaders of 40 different denominations in the UK are meeting, right here in our county, with this agenda of Prayer and Mission at the forefront of their thinking and praying. Sadly, those called to prayer have often been the Cinderellas of the church, and sometimes in reaction have become isolated in their call. This is changing. Those called to mission are again digging the foundations of prayer and those called to prayer are moving into partnership with missions.
- There’s a call for the church to “turn”. 2 Chronicles 7:14 has long been our cry, but however much we humble ourselves, pray and seek His face, if we (the church) do not “turn” from our wicked ways the land cannot heal.
More on these points as we go forward but let’s play our part in connecting with one another across the county, so that fire can spread from village to town until the whole of Cumbria is ablaze!
