For well over two decades we’ve carried in our hearts a picture given to us by a group of praying friends which they’d received in a time of prayer for the county …
“As we looked at Cumbria we saw fires all around the county. As the fires began to burn streams of fire began to cross from fire to fire until the whole county was ringed by fire. As the circle became complete streams of fire began to flow up the valleys from towards the mountainous centre until the whole county was ablaze”
This aligns with the prophetic picture given to Jean Darnell (for those who remember) 50 years ago in 1967.
“And what I saw was the British Isles, as in a bird’s eye view. A kind of haze was over the whole, like a green fog. And then little pinpricks of light began to appear from the top of Scotland to Land’s End. Then the Lord seemed to draw me closer to these lights, and I saw that they were fires that were burning. They were multiplying from the top of Scotland to Land’s End.”
There comes a time when the Holy Spirit grabs our attention and says, “now is the time”. The prophet Daniel was the one who recognised that the time of fulfilment for Jeremiah’s prophetic word for Israel had come, (Jeremiah 25:1-11; Daniel 9:1-2) and Father God moved a King’s heart to make it happen. (Ezra 1:1-4)
There can be no doubt that The Holy Spirit has been grabbing the attention of his people and saying, “now is the time”. We’ve written that we believe that it’s a new season in the purposes of God for this country. So, what do you think?
We can say “Oh really! We’ve heard that so often before and what’s changed?” or we can take hold of our faith in God, listen to the prophets, drive away the cynicism that says we’ve heard it all before, and looking to Jesus press forward with expectation and anticipation. Let’s remember He is “able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21
